CONTROL LINE PROFILE STUNT RULES

1. General:

1.1 The following rules apply to the Control Line Profile Stunt event as sponsored by the Knights of the Round Circle.

1.2 All pertinent AMA regulations, the General Control Line rules and the CL Aerobatics rules, shall apply except as specified below.

1.3 The Profile Stunt event may be conducted as a combined event or it may be divided into Sportsman and Competitor Divisions. Any flyer can enter when the Profile Stunt event is conducted as a combined event. Expert Skill Category fliers cannot fly in the Profile Sportsman Division. Any flyer can enter the Profile Expert Division.

3. Muffler Requirement

The engine or engines must be equipped with a muffler or silencer to limit noise output. Only tube, expansion chamber or tongue mufflers are allowed. Pipes or mufflers that extend more than eight (8) inches beyond the center of the cylinder bore are not allowed. Electric motors are exempted from the muffler requirements.

6. Profile Fuselage Definition

The models flown in the Profile Stunt event must have a profile fuselage as defined below.

6.1 The engine shall be completely exposed from and including the sides of the mounting lugs to the top of the cylinder head. An annular nose ring is allowed but cannot extend beyond any portion of the engine mounting lugs.

6.2 The nominal width of the fuselage cannot exceed 0.5 inch at any point aft of the wing trailing edge.

6.3 The nominal width of the nose/engine nacelle(s) cannot exceed 1.5 inches. Nose fairings may extend from the prop driver to a point not beyond 50% of the root wing chord from the leading edge. Nose doublers up to 1/8 inch thickness may be used on either side of the fuselage but cannot extend past the wing trailing edge. Metal engine mounting pads, engine mounting clamps and/or other such devices are not to be considered as part of the allowable nose width.
