Guests: Kathie Wright, Don Kaiser

Main Meeting: 5/9/06

Show and Tell:

Larry Renger Plans and freshly laser cut parts (Thanks Eric!) for a new design, the Frite Streak. Another airplane, already. This one is coming to a magazine near you and after that to a Rule Kit. It is the Fright Freak -- try that again -- Frite Streak destined for Flying Models. Lookit this wee little rascal

John Wright John Wright – His ARF “Score” still in the box. – ARF Arf. Hold on to the leash, John. Kit box is in the back of the first picture taken pre-meeting.

Ken Kaiser – An English Electric -- but not like the copmpany that made the Canberra. Here is a down-the-lines electric power airplane. The lines look a bit like the kind for your lights on a Christmas tree. From England, it works but the battery one carries is a bit heavy. work.

Ray Ebert - This is a 'Vector'. The picture has had the messy background painted out to reduce the size of the image. The airplane looks a LOT better than the background. First picture is VP Kephart holding another ARF bit Pete missed the details.

Cliff Silva – a Brodak .061. Seems to be externally identical to the .049. He hasn’t run it yet.

Mike Fox – An ARF Super Clown.

Dale Kirn – A notebook about the new airplane museum in his home townn Look under "people" on this web site for an Article published about it in a Salina KS paper.

Kathie Wright – A couple books on aviation.

Old Business:

Joust review: Reviewed how the Joust ran. We need to see if the date was the cause of low attendance, or was it just coincidental bad timing for some of our regulars.

New Business:

A variety of events are coming up:

Per Dale Kirn - September 16th, Fullerton airport day. They would like for us to do training and demos. We discussed the setup we had last time and what changes are needed. Generally agreed that we would participate. AMA supplemental insurance would be required.

Dave Kick – The Cable Airport airshow is in January, the week before the AMA Convention. We were there last year, and had moderate success in kid training and demonstrations. Again, agreed that it was worth doing again.

Larry Renger – requested permission to sign us up for a booth at the AMA convention. Moved and passed to go for it if we get the usual $100 price.

Various meets and events coming up:

July 8 a swap meet in Balboa Park in San Diego

July 8 & 9 an all electric meet at the Sepulveda Basin Apollo 11 field

August 12th – MECA meet in West Covina

August 13th – Circle Burners P-40 (and, I think Carrier) at “the Basin”

August 19th & 20th – Ted Goyet memorial meet in Woodland, CA

October 7th & 8th – Hi Johnson Memorial Meet at “the Basin”

Pete's Closing Note

The Next meeting is Tuesday July 11. Come on in -- we'd like to see you -- and you might like to see the summer harvest of model projects.

Oh yes -- remember that all the pictures are available in much larger sizes... generally true for the ohotos on the web site.
