MONOLINE BARRED FROM INT'L TEAM RACING

As we went to press on this month's MA, an interpretation of FAI Team Race rules from FAI Headquarters in Paris inferred that a monoline system will not be allowed in the forthcoming World Championship Team Race event, although paragraph 4.10.4 of the Sporting Code, Section IV, allows for a single line system. It is anticipated that this problem will be resolved at the next CIAM meeting in October. All intending participants in the forthcoming Team Race eliminations are therefore reminded that only the conventional two-line system will be allowed as a result of this interpretation. This in no way affects Stunt and Speed contestants.
